In addition to the wheat allergy my one child has numerous other allergies including life-threatening peanut and tree nut allergies. It is the nut allergy that is especially difficult to deal with since many products might be GF but may still be processed in a facility with nuts (yes he is so allergic he cannot have anything even processed in a facility with nuts). There are very FEW companies that offer products not processed in a facility with nuts and unfortunately they are becoming even fewer as over the past couple of years I have seen products that we could get are no longer available.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07648198137994615863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8281784801217494451.post-81868208632658694962013-07-07T04:41:08.205-07:002013-07-07T04:41:08.205-07:00Two of our children have Celiac disease so we are ...Two of our children have Celiac disease so we are a gluten free house. And yes GF foods are more expensive, and making them at home doesn't make them much cheaper. We generally avoid pre-packaged foods because we simply can not afford it.

~Katie
www.simplefoody.orgKatiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17313676895153652855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8281784801217494451.post-46627138179628894802013-07-06T20:54:11.929-07:002013-07-06T20:54:11.929-07:00have not had :-/have not had :-/Charity Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11928225278405878373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8281784801217494451.post-91978125807482070452013-07-06T20:49:29.042-07:002013-07-06T20:49:29.042-07:00This was a great read! Basically we found that as close to God made is best. Im sure you are finding this, too. Meats, veggies, nuts, berries, fruits... nothing processed or processed grains or sugar. It's been a switch but we are feeling super great! I can make any Paleo meal and add a healthy grain like quinoa. My children actually don't mind it much! The only boxed items I give them now are Annie O's snacks. :-)
Hope you find what works well for your family. :-)
Lord bless y'all!
Charity Charity Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11928225278405878373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8281784801217494451.post-6439678184186168902013-07-06T19:44:27.069-07:002013-07-06T19:44:27.069-07:00Enjoyed reading this, Stephanie! Yes, it's easy to run into unexpected gluten-containing foods (especially at first)

2. Yes, it's more expensive to eat gluten-free

3. No, it isn't necessarily more "better" to eat gluten-free unless you have a health reason to do so

Loved this!
